ADS Florida Hosts Seminars on Building a Strong Dental Practice and Successful Exit Stratgey
Seminars focus on expanding the patient base, building teamwork, and accessing Internet opportunities in a tough economy.
NAPLES, Fla. --- ADS Florida will present “Best Practices in Bear Markets: Enhancing Practice Value in Economic Downtimes,” a seminar for dental practitioners, at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota on September 19, 2008, and at the Embassy Suites Jacksonville on November 7, 2008.
The seminar lectures will focus on helping dentists to develop and maintain a strong practice and to prepare a successful exit strategy. Topics include: Building equity and value for your practice; Increasing your income until retirement; and Preparing for a highly profitable transition.
ADS Florida’s founder Hy Smith, MBA, is among the presenters. Smith says that current economic conditions are causing some sellers of dental practices to postpone selling their practice. He notes that one result is a buildup of buyers for solid, well located practices in Florida. Author of “Buying and Selling a Professional Practice,” Smith believes that “It’s a good time to be prepared to sell, even if it’s not for another year or so.” Noting the possibility that a post-election increase in the capital gains tax rate could increase the seller’s tax burden, Smith says, “The unknowns of an administration change and the impact on capital gains tax makes it an appealing time to retire in Florida.”
Steve Blechman, DMD, will discuss novel approaches to case presentation. Blechman’s strengths include analyzing the marketplace and motivating staff to be partners and leaders in case acceptance.
The Internet’s revolutionary opportunities for attracting and developing new patients, and for communicating with patients will be presented by Lawrence E. Fendrich, DMD.
